Getting your newborn to nap 09/22/2009
Getting your newborn to sleep is not a hard science. It requires patience and some technique but the rest of it depends very much on you figuring what to do according to how your baby behaves. Below is some guideline you can consider when getting your newborn to sleep. The most important thing is to first know the natural sleeping pattern of your newborn. This can be done by simply observing their sleeping habits and recording down when they sleep and for how long. After you have done this for a few days, you will be able to tell the sleeping pattern of your newborn. What happens next is to gently shift your newborn's sleeping pattern to suit your needs. Say your newborn typically sleeps at 12am but you want to sleep earlier. Then start putting him/her to bed at 11:45 for a few days and then 11:30 and so on and so forth. This will require patience and might need you to nurse your newborn to sleep in the beginning of the cycle. The good news is that the sleeping pattern fo newborn can be altered while they are still young. So,keep that in mind while you are learning how to get your newborn to sleep. First Post! 09/22/2009
